Sustainable livestock (slf)- Cameroon is a non-profit agricultural organization founded in Bamenda – Cameroon – by Awetua Samuel Ukeinia (Agro – Veterinary Engineer) and Ngieto Rosca (College tutor) in 1992. The organization was born from the felt needs expressed by famers especially women farmers who cultivate food crops and raise small animals and poultry in association on the same small parcel of land as the only source of livelihood for their families . Sustainable increased crop yields and better livestock weight gains supported by by sustained soil fertility was the basic goal.
SLF therefore promotes and supports a sustainable farming systems for the less privilege most of whom are women house hold main bread winners . SLF further tries to reduce poverty in this important group that constitutes at least 80% of the population of Cameroon by re enforcing the provision of social services for this category of people in the society.
